PHEATURE

2019

A PATIENT CENTRIC JOURNEY

21st - 22nd September 2019, National University of Singapore, Faculty of Science, LT28
ABOUT

PHEATURE

2019

Pheature 2019 is a joint, inaugural collaboration between the National University of Singapore Pharmaceutical Society (NUSPS) and International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Chapter (ISPESC), to organise a two-day conference for the student body.

The conference will encompass a series of informative sharing, panel discussions and activities that aims to broaden students’ perspectives on the different sectors of the Bio-Pharma Industry and how the different roles come together to formulate a product to meet the needs of the patients. As such, we decided to encapsulate this concept by naming our annual event “Pheature” to feature different aspects of the Bio-Pharma Industry, to the student participants.

With the notion of the patient and the formulation process in mind, we have decided to feature this aspect as our 2019 theme and we have decided to title the upcoming conference as “A patient-centric journey: From Innovation to Administration”.

The objectives of the conference are to:

  • Introduce students to the latest innovations and breakthroughs in the Bio-Pharma industry

  • Expose students to the different sectors and roles in the Bio-Pharma industry, allowing students to consider a future career path in the industry.

  • Provide an opportunity for students to network and meet professionals from the different sectors of the Bio-Pharma Industry as well as students from other courses of study.

The conference will span over a period of two days. The programme for the first day will encompass talks, case studies and panel discussions to enable students from different courses of study to interact and bond, in a collaborative setting. The programme for the second day will encompass a panel discussion as well as smaller group sharings to engage the students.

CHAIRMAN'S

MESSAGE

Dear all,

Today, the world enters the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), driven by three major technological advancements: digital connectivity, artificial intelligence and automation. The global economy is entering a phase of uncertainty, as we begin to explore how these technologies could potentially impact the work of the future. This is no exception for the pharmaceutical industry.

Pheature 2019, an event co-hosted by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering and the Pharmaceutical Society, National University of Singapore, aims to provide both students and professionals the opportunities to explore how the 4IR could impact the pharmaceutical industry in Singapore. With Singapore's rapid development based on its core principal to adapt to changes, it is only right that we gain a firm understanding of these changes and look into how we can equip ourselves for the future.

These efforts were made possible through the strong relationship established between the International Society for  Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Chapter (ISPESC) and the NUS Pharmaceutical society, through the Young Channels Partnership Program (YCPP) initiated by ISPESC. The YCPP program allows for pharmaceutical societies across different tertiary institutions to connect and gain exposure to the pharmaceutical industry.

We hope that through Pheature 2019, students and professionals are better aware these changes and work towards, not only to driving efficiency and efficacy in the industry and medication, but also a more patient centric approach to healthcare.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy the conference.
